(Morrow Cove, CA., March 10)  Kristen Swader, a 5-5 Sophomore from Ojai, CA, has been awarded Athlete of the Month for the month of February 2007.  Kristen last attended Nordhoff High School where she came to Cal Maritime in the Fall of 2005.  As a second year starter for the Keelhaulers, Kristen has been a consistent player and a major impact on the Women’s Water Polo team.

Megan Braun, a 5-11 Sophomore from San Bernardino, CA, has also been awarded Athlete of the month of February 2007. Megan last attended Cajon High School and came to Cal Maritime in the Fall of 2005. Megan is also a second year starter for Cal Maritime, where she has become a respected role model for the Women’s Water Polo team. 

After 11 games, both Kristen and Megan are the team leaders for scoring this season. Kristen Swader has 35 goals to her name, while Megan Braun has scored 26.

Kristen Swader is currently studying Global Studies at the California Maritime Academy, and Megan Braun is studying Mechanical Engineering. Both are planning to graduate in 2009.
