Praise Odo-Boms, a native of Inglewood,
Ca., has been awarded the Athlete of the
Month for the month of November 2006.
Praise last attended the University of New
Mexico and transferred to Cal Maritime in
2004. In his second year with the Cal
Maritime Men’s Basketball team, Praise has
proven himself to be a well rounded team
player.
In the month of November, Praise has been
active in each of the seven games the
Keelhaulers played in. He averaged nearly 9
points a game while pulling down 8 rebounds
per contest. He currently leads the team in
steals and blocked shots.
Praise’s athleticism was readily apparent
during the 1st Annual Maritime
Classic. His presence in the post was
dominant and was capped by a tremendous
effort against SUNY Maritime Academy where
he scored a season high 15 points and
grabbed 16 rebounds. Praise helped the
Keelhaulers capture the inaugural
Maritime Cup and his efforts were recognized
as he was named to the All-Tournament team.
Praise is currently studying Business
Administration here at the California
Maritime Academy and looks to graduate in
2008.
