The 2007-2008 California Maritime
Academy men's basketball program has
finalized the schedule for the upcoming
season and this year's slate presents
one that will certainly challenge the
Keelhaulers. Highlights on the
schedule start early as two of the first
three contests include exhibition games
against Division One schools UC Davis
and Sacramento State. Sandwiched
in between the two exhibition is the
Keelhauler's first home game against
Northwest University, a top contender in
the always tough Cascade Conference.
The team will also travel in the
preseason to Throggs Neck, New York to
compete in the Maritime Cup and to
Southern California to compete against
Vanguard University and Biola
University. Once they return, Cal
Pac conference play begins a home game
against Dominican University.
"We are excited about this year's
schedule because of the opportunities
our team will be given to test
ourselves. You will find quality
programs up and down our schedule and
this fact has been motivating the
players in their preseason efforts,"
commented Coach Bryan Rooney.
In
addition to the team's schedule, the
program is also hosting an alumni game
October 20th. Any interested
players are encouraged to contact Coach
Rooney for further details. Go
