Menlo, CA -- In a
battle for third place in the California
Pacific Conference, Cal Maritime was
physically manhandled and forced to walk
the plank by Menlo College on Saturday
night with a final score of
75-57. The
Keelhaulers (12-10, 7-5 in Cal Pac) made
it interesting as they battled back from
being down 11 points to start the second
half with a flurry of points to tie the
game at 38-38 with 16:30 in the second
half. The Oaks (11-9, 7-5 in Cal
Pac) responded by controlling the boards
and holding CMA to just 37% shooting on
the night and ripped up the nets by
shooting 54% for the game.
"We got beat by a very
good team. We need to become a
better defensive team if we want to
to finish the season strong and go deep
into the post season", head coach Tim
Harrison stated. "Against solid
teams your weakness get exposed and
tonight we were stripped down to our
shorts." Next up
is a much needed home game versus
Bethany College
with a tip-off on Thursday at 7:30pm. |
