CMA DROPS TOUGH ONE AT HOME TO THE OAKS

January 6, 2007
Vallejo, CA -- In a tale of two halves, the Keelhaulers(7-6, 3-1 in Cal Pac) came up a basket short at home against a solid Oak performance by the Menlo College Oaks, losing 65-62 on Saturday afternoon.

The Keelaulers jumped out to an early halftime lead of 41-26, shooting 50% from the floor, but the Oaks (6-5, 2-1 in Cal Pac) tightened up defensively holding CMA to just 32% in the second half and finished the game with a 15-2 run to steal the victory.  The haulers couldn't stop Chris Cobb who dropped in a career high of 21 points on 8 for 11 shooting from the floor.

"This will be a tough one to swallow, but I am pleased with our program, where we are headed, playing in competitive games, and being in contention with the top Cal Pac teams", quoted Head Coach Tim Harrison.

Next up for Cal Maritime are to big road games, at Bethany College on Tuesday and the leaders of the Cal Pac William Jessup in Rocklin on Thursday.
