The
California Maritime Keelhaulers earned a
split over the weekend with a close win
against Bethany University and a tough
loss against William Jessup.
Against
Bethany, junior Andrew Johnson made a
pull up jump shot with 1.4 seconds on
the clock to put Maritime ahead to stay
with a 61-59 victory. Cody Gatton
led the team in scoring with 18 points.
On Saturday
night, the Keelhaulers took a 33-32 lead
into the halftime break. However,
they went cold offensively down the
stretch, shooting only 28% in the second
half, and could not hold off the hot
shoot Warriors of Willliam Jessup.
Will Williams led the Keelhaulers with
20 points and was joined by John Stiles
in double figures with 15.
The team is
back on the court Tuesday night when
they will battle Pacific Union College
on the road at 7:30pm. The
Keelhaulers return home on Thursday when
they will battle Cal State East Bay.
Go
