The
Keelhaulers of the California Maritime
Academy were victorious over
Southwestern College Thursday night by
the score of 91-70. The night
marked an outstanding shooting night by
Maritime as the team shot nearly 60%
from the field and 65% from the three
point line.
The
Keelhaulers were led by Simon Heller,
Cody Gatton, and Will Williams who all
scored 17 points. Heller was 5 of
8 from the three point line and Williams
was 4 of 5 from downtown. David
Prendeble led the team with 9 rebounds.
Andy Johnson played a solid floor game
with seven assists in a game where the
Keelhaulers combined for 21 total
assists.
"We shot
the ball extremely well tonight and it
was great to see how many of our baskets
came on the end of a great pass.
Our effort was much better defensively
in the second half when we held them to
26% shooting. We have a big
challenge ahead of us on Saturday
against a very good Dominican University
team," commented Head Coach Bryan
Rooney.
With the
win, Maritime improves to 10-9 overall
and will be back in action against
Dominican University on Saturday at
7:30pm in San Rafael.
Go
