Pasadena, CA: Rebounding
from a three tough losses on Saturday, Cal
Maritime finished it’s week-end on a high note,
defeating host Cal Tech 15-11 on Sunday
morning. With leading scorer Evan Markstrum
back with the team, the Keelhaulers relied on a
balanced scoring attack and a tough, scorching
defense to defeat the Beavers for the first time
in three years.
Seven Keelhaulers figured
in the scoring, with Sr Fletcher McCue and Fr
Bryan Zitren scoring four goals each. Sophs Nic
Beene and Phil Spann scored two each, and Sr
Cole Van Gundy, So Evan Markstrum, and Fr Megan
Braun contributing one each. Sr Goalie Blake
Amon had another stellar game in the goal with 8
saves, including blocking a penalty shot.

NOTES: CMA returns to
action this Saturday, 8 Oct 05, at the first
Pacific Coast Conference tournament being held
at UC Davis……CMA faces UCLA at 4:10p and St
Mary’s at 7:40p on Saturday, and returns to the
pool on Sunday to face Chico State at 10:50a,
and Cal Poly SLO at 3:30p…..With many of the
team members hailing from Southern California,
the Keelhauler rooting section was well
represented this week-end.
