Cal Maritime Blanks USF

(Vallejo – February 20, 2010) – Cal Maritime scored ten tries to defeat the University of San Francisco Dons by 60-0 at Bodnar Field.

Flanker Colby Grobschmit scored a hat-trick and Rufus Walker scored a brace as Cal Maritime dominated USF in all areas of the game. Walker opened the scoring followed by Will Fitzpatrick before Grobschmit scored his first two.

Cal Maritime scored five tries in each half and went in at half time with the score at 29-0.

Wing Kirk Mueller opened the scoring in the second half followed by fellow wing Kevin Hawke. Lonnie Shankling scored under the post before Grobschmit scored his third. The final try was scored by Jason Herring.

The conversions were added by Walker and Kevin Raff.

 

“The game was slow and we didn’t play as effectively as we need to,” said Coach Edward Roberts “There’s a great deal of improvement needed to take advantage of all the opportunities we create”.

The win takes Cal Maritime to 4-0 in the league.

Cal Maritime next play Santa Rosa JC on Feb 27.
