Santa Rosa JC Defeats the Keelhaulers

 

(Santa Rosa – Feb 27,2010) – Santa Rosa JC defeated Cal Maritime in a closely fought game by a score of 14-5.

 

On a wet and muddy field, Santa Rosa took the lead with a strong break in the midfield and went into half-time ahead 7-0.

 

Cal Maritime came out strongly in the second half and quickly scored through wing Kirk Mueller.

 

However defensive lapses saw Santa Rosa score again to earn a well deserved victory.

 

“Santa Rosa were better than us today,” said coach Edward Roberts. “We didn’t function as a cohesive team today and we paid the price. The scoreboard never lies.”

 

Cal Maritime is now in the league.
