Rugby Schedule Announced

(Vallejo, Sept 12, 2006) –Division 1 Stanford is the first game for the Cal Maritime rugby team.
The Keelhaulers open up against Stanford on Friday November 17, 2006. That game opens a
pre-season campaign containing a mixture of Division 1 and 2 college teams and experienced
club teams,
including San Francisco Golden Gate U23’s and local rivals Santa Rosa JC.

“Our pre-season is all about preparing the team to play in the league games. We like to challenge ourselves at a level above that which we usually play, hence we are playing a division 1 team
from Stanford”, said coach Edward Roberts.

The league schedule starts on January 20, 2007 with a visit from Santa Clara University. Next up
is a non-league game against San Francisco Golden Gate U23’s before the team takes a few
weeks break from game play.

The main body of the season continues on February 17 with a visit to University of San Francisco
and continues with games against the other five teams in Northern California Division 2. The
regular season ends with a visit to San Jose State University on March 24.

“Every year our league schedule is very challenging. Any team in our league is capable of asking difficult questions of each other. This years schedule is no different.”
