The Keelhaulers made the post season in only there
second year of competition. Although they did not
win they have helped move the program in the right
direction. The team ended the season with only six
players, who all had a big part of what happened this
year. Ever game the ladies played there hearts
out. Because of the dedication and will to compete
each and every day made it an honor to coach the ladies
this year. In most cases the scores did not depict
the actual game at hand.
With the huge improvement from last season the ladies
had many firsts this year. There first victory
came on November 25th against Caltech of Pasadena.
The following weekend they traveled to Arizona and
defeated Life Pacific. The ladies started 2006 off
2 and 0 beating Life Pacific for their 2nd win against
them and 1st victory at home. The following night
on January 5th 2006 Cal Maritime earned their first Cal
Pac conference win defeating Simpson University.
On the 19th of January the Keelhaulers picked up there
first road Cal Pac victory over Pacific Union College.
The Keelhaulers faced Pacific Union once again at home
to finish the regular season. This game came down
to the wire with Pacific Union edging out the
Keelhaulers, but the wins they had earned earlier
were enough to receive the 8th and final spot in the Cal
Pac Conference Tournament.
Cal Maritime faced a very tough Bethany College that
used many different defenses to defeat the Keelhaulers.
The ladies were lead by Clarisse Osegueda and Stacey
Sorenson both with 10 points.
With all 6 players eligible to return next year and the
addition of several recruits the Keelhaulers feel that
they are on the right path to compete at a higher level
in the Cal Pac Conference.
