1-19-06 - Cal Maritime vs. Pacific Union College

The Keelhaulers (2-6 conference, 5-10 overall) earned there 5^th victory of the season on Thursday night in Angwin against the Pioneers of Pacific Union College.  The Keelhaulers started the night off with solid team work and great shot selection on the offensive end and solid team defense from everyone.  The Keelhaulers enjoyed a 9 point lead at halftime.  In the second half, they extended the lead to as many as 21, when the Pioneers made a late charge to cut the game to 6 points with 8 minutes remaining in the game.  The Keelhaulers used patience and solid team defense to hold off the charge to win 52 to 42.  The Keelhaulers were led by Katie Maddox with 20 points, Stacey Sorenson with 17 and Clarisse Osegueda chipping in 12.  Sorenson also added 6 assists.  Pascha McAlister grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Keelhaulers.  Beatriz Lupercio had a solid defensive game with holding Pacific Union’s shooter to 5 of 17 shooting.  Jennifer Wadsworth played a solid role in the post but was plagued with foul trouble throughout the game.
