6 Jan 06 - The Lady Keelhaulers played the Warriors of Simpson University in Mayo Hall Friday night.  The Keelhaulers, limited to just 6 players in uniform, defeated Simpson University by a score of  50–48.  Defense was the deciding factor in the evenly matched contest, with the score tied at half, 24-24.  With the Warriors leading by 1 and 39 seconds left in regulation, Clarisse Osegueda drove to the basket and scored the go ahead bucket.  The Keelhaulers were able to stop Simpson  on the ensuing possession.  Stacey Sorenson was then fouled with 7 seconds remaining and converted 1 of the 2 free throws.  The Warriors launched a last second 3 point shot that went wide right.  The Keelhaulers had a balanced scoring attack with Sorenson and Katie Maddox leading the way with 16 apiece and Laneesh Salahuddin chipping in 9.
