Jessica Cannon, a 5-8 freshman from Sacramento, Ca., has been awarded Athlete of the Month for the month of December 2006.  Jessica graduated from Mesa Verde High School in June 2006.  As a freshman, Jessica has made an immediate impact on the Lady Keelhauler Basketball team.

In the month of December, Jessica has been very active in each of the five games the Keelhaulers played in.  She averaged nearly 34 minutes per contest.  In December, Jessica averaged 13 points per game while pulling down nearly 5 rebounds.  Her shooting percentage from the floor was nearly 40%, while she converted 80% of her free throws.  She currently leads the team is scoring with 11.3 points per game.

The highlight of the month for Jessica was the performance against Life Pacific College where she poured in a season high 18 points, converting on 50% of her shots from the floor.  Her efforts helped the Keelhaulers to an 84-34 victory.

Jessica is currently studying Business Administration at the California Maritime Academy and is on track to graduate in 2010.
