Keelhaulers Look Strong in First Race 

The Cal Maritime crew team had a solid performance in its first race of the fall season, the Wine Country Rowing Classic in Petaluma, California.  The Keelhaulers fielded boats in three races, the women's collegiate eight, the men's collegiate eight, and the men's open eight in the 5,000-meter race.

The women took to the water first in the collegiate eight.  The eight, including two novice rowers and a novice coxswain, placed third, finishing in 22:39 behind two Saint Mary's College crews, and ahead of Mills College and three boats from Sonoma State.  In the men's collegiate eight, the entirely novice crew competed against crews from Sonoma State and Stanford University, finishing fourth in a time of 25:15.  In the men's open eight, the Keelhaulers finished second behind Stanford in 19:57. 

Women's Open Eight:  Brittany Wilson (coxswain), Kalisha Donnelly, Chelsea Martin, Marisa Why, Katie Maddox, Megan Braun, Beth Runciman, Maxine Kantor, and Kristen Swader.

Men's Collegiate Eight: Michael Litzenberger (coxswain), Michael Catchings, Joe Morales, Charlie Judge, Alex Hannon, Roy Kim, Pablo Galindo, Tom Ballard, and Sam Brown.

Men's Open Eight: Alex Walker (coxswain), Matt Mossinger, Mike Hess, Macklin Sandison, Greg Johnston, Tommy Stillwachs, Robert Lindsay, Aaron Weiner, and Steve Shults.
