(Sanford, FL, April 18, 2010) – Cal Maritime had a nightmare first half in their consolation game against last year’s national champions Middlebury College. They went down 27-0 during the first half.
But after half-time the improvement began with tries from Kevin Raff, Kyle Lewis, Kirk Mueller and Colby Grobschmit and conversions by Kevin Raff
Even though the second half was an improvement by the Keelhaulers the result was never in doubt as Middlebury won 40-24.
“The first half we struggled.”, said coach Edward Roberts. “But in the second half at least we scored some good tries. This team is young and will only benefit from the experience of being in the national play-offs.”.
