CSU Maritime senior Will Akers was selected as the California Pacific Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the dates of October 12th through 19th, 2009.

The Truckee, California native had nineteen saves in a 0-1 week for the Keelhaulers.  The Keelhaulers lost 2-1 to Pacific Union College in Angwin on Sunday.  Akers is the #1 goalie in the NAIA in terms of saves per game at 14 per game. 

CSU Maritime continues their 2009 California Pacific Conference schedule Wednesday as they take on Bethany University in Scotts Valley.
